Katherine Bennett, IDSA
Katherine’s passions are research, strategic planning, information architecture, design development, and design / technology history. Her specialty is understanding the user experience through a comprehensive approach comprised of observational, ethnographic, and co-design research methodologies, and applying a series of analytical frameworks to the findings in order to connect key insights to design opportunities.
She has been active at the local, district, and national levels of the Industrial Designers Society of America. In addition to serving as Vice President of Education and member of the IDSA Board of Directors, she has been Western District Education Rep and IDSA/LA Chapter Chair. She has been a member of the faculty at Art Center College of Design since 1988. Katherine has worked with Henry Dreyfuss Associates, Hauser Associates, Saul Bass, Don Chadwick, and the Mega/Erg think tank, researching and developing a wide variety of designs including laboratory and business equipment, tableware, gas stations, office and residential furniture, and consumer products.
